“Celebrating Fashion,” The Gordon Parks Award Dinner and Auction will be held on TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2009 at the Gotham Hall, 1356 Broadway at 36th Street, New York, NY.
6:30 p.m. Cocktails — 7: 30 p.m. Dinner — Cocktail Attire. The event is honoring fashion model and activist, Liya Kebede; activist and philanthropist, Russell Simmons; and fashion designer, Isabel Toledo. Gloria Vanderbilt and President William Jefferson Clinton are the honorary chairs.
Among the photographs to be auctioned are works by LARRY BURROWS (“Louis Armstrong”), ANNIE LEIBOVITZ (“Barack Obama”, “Michelle Obama“), ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE (“Alistair Butler”), GORDON PARKS, HERB RITTS (“Nelson Mandela“) and others.
