The July 1st sale of photographs at Christie’s London yielded one image of the African diaspora: Andy Warhol’s Diana Ross, 1981.

The unique color Polaroid print measures 3 3/4 x 2 7/8 inches with the Andy Warhol (1928-1987) estate stamps on verso.

The price realized, 8,355 USD (including buyer’s premium), matched the high estimate.

Yann Le Mouel Photographs Auction, Wednesday, May 6 (Paris, France)

On Wednesday, May 6th, Yann Le Mouel will auction 19th and 20th century photographs. Included among the 315 lots for sale are works by ANDRE STEINER (1901-1978), BURK UZZLE (1938-), BRUCE DAVIDSON (1933-), RON GALELLA (1931-), and ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE (1946-1989). This collection of images present candid shots of children/family, the Civil Rights Movement, Grace Jones, and Dennis Speight, who was featured in Mapplethorpe’s Black Book.
